Dear Members,

I am pleased to share good news from both Washington and Baton Rouge.

>From Capitol Hill comes an announcement to celebrate. The US Senate has

reached an agreement that if passed will award Louisiana a significant share
in the royalties from off shore oil and gas drilling. These funds would be
used to pay for coastal restoration and flood reduction. Levees.Org will
keep you posted on this and will launch a new letter campaign to help
acheive this goal.

>From Baton Rouge, the Louisiana State Legislature unanimously passed SCR 89

by State Senator Julie Quinn, commending Levees.org. Said Senator Quinn
"this group knew from the outset that the corps was responsible, and it was
in large part due to pressure from Levees.org that the corps finally
accepted that responsibility."

What you can do today:

1. GET A SIGN. Displaying our "Hold the Corps Accountable" signs shows the
Corps, Congress and the nation that we understand what caused the flooding
and that we won't let it happen again. Go to
www.levees.org/promo/refer/yardsign.php for a pick up spot near you. If
your sign has disappeared, get another!

2. Take 30 SECONDS and go to http://congress.levees.org. With one click of
a mouse, send a letter to your Members of Congress urging them to recognize
the mistakes of the Corps and to take the steps to make sure the
catastrophic flooding never happens again.

3. Visit the brand new MEMBER'S SECTION of Levees.Org! Now you can win
free Levees.Org gear by participating in our referral program. Also, be
sure to visit our new Community Forum. All this and more at
http://members.levees.org.

Thanks so much!
