I appreciate your answer and more importantly respect your opinions and
thank God for your devotion to the parish. EVERYONE owes you a great debt of
gratitude. You know that I don't agree with you at times, especially now,
but I understand your position. Just today I was at my home in Meraux,
cutting the grass and making sure that the windows were in good shape. You
know I guess the real problem is that you (meaning the parish government) is
pushing for a rapid resolution to the issue. At the same time the LRA is
still fiddling around with the grant program and I heard our dear Walter
Leger state that we would be taking a great risk if we had our homes
demolished prior to the LRA grant processing. Once again, by public policy I
find myself between a rock and a hard place.
I then read about the council's stand regarding rental properties. That
policy may be fine if you knew  how many people were returning, but you
don't. I hate to be a party pooper but I have a feeling that despite our
most fervant prayers, St. Bernard Parish will not resemble anything that we
have seen during the last fifty years. That  breaks my heart.
The email from Charlie Fos states it very eloquently. I think that ya'll are
doing what you believe to be the best for the future, but please, recognize
that 80-90% of the parish residents are not in the parish and every new
rule, regulation, etc., will be seen viewed in a different light  by those
who are not there, but were perhaps planning on returning.
And yes, I do feel better after my rant, this website is a real blessing. My
prayers are with you and your family.
