MINUTES OF OPERATIONS BRIEFING
Monday, July 10, 2006, 8:00 a.m.

Dave Peralta, Chief Administrative Officer

Present: 25

Emergency Operations: Larry Ingargiola.
1. LRA is looking for a location to operate out of in the parish for the
next 2 to 3 years.

Community Development: Mike Hunnicutt. Not present.

Public Works and Water and Sewer: Chris Merkl. Not present.
Linda Daly reports:
1. Our billing department will be mailing out water bills this week.

Curry reports:
1. Demolition and debris pickup are still on going.
2. We are working on getting the mobile home at the end of Judge Perez
removed.

Recovery: David Dysart. Not present

Public Assistance:
Residential: Craig Taffaro.
1. Last week was active for the Council. We have begun the process of
making the August 29, 2006 deadline law.
2. We are still picking up the last tail of trailer issues being installed.
3. Allison Davis: Reports that FEMA has hired 3 contractors for removing
trailers for those residents that do not need them any longer. Residents are
to call 1-888-294-2822 to have a trailer removed from their property.
Business: Charles Ponstein.
1. The August 29th deadline should be posted on the website that this law is
not just for residents but for business owners also.
Private Non-Profit: Judy Hoffmeister. Not present.
Volunteers: Gidget McDougall
1. We will be working on the Katrina Anniversary ceremony.

Agriculture/Wildlife and Fisheries: Ricky Melerine. Not present.

Lake Borgne Basin Levee District: Bob Turner.
1. Levee work still on going at Bayou Bienvenu and that project is just
about completed.
2. Still having problems at pump stations # 4 and # 7; marsh grass continues
to be a problem at #7.
3. We are still working on a $3 million dollar Project Worksheet.

Medical: Dr. Bryan Bertucci. Not present.

EMS: Janie Fuller. Not present.
Public Safety: Sheriff's Office. Major Pete Tufaro
1. We had an investigation at a trailer site and made several arrest and two
residents are being evicted from the trailer park site.


Fire Department: A.J. Seruntine
1. Since Friday we had 1 structure fire, 18 medical, 1 power line down, 3
public assist and 2 false alarms.


Environmental Issues:
CDC and DEQ: Wayne Desselle.
1. We have not heard from the CCA since last Thursday's meeting.

EPA: No Report
Murphy Oil: Not present.

Parish Government:
Council: Lynn Dean. Not present.
Parks and Recreation: John Metzler, Jr.
1. We trying to maintain other parks to be use for practice fields.
2. In mid August we will start with our Soccer program.

External Affairs: No report.
Finance: Geremie Loupe. Not present.
Personnel: Kevin Clark. Not present.
Insurance: Mike Wiltz. Not present.
Long Term Recovery: Marvin LeBlanc. Not present.
