the two people who are filling the positions are very capable individuals
who know the current state of affairs and won't need several months to
complete a learnig curve.

I think they are saying, they left because they are over worked. I can see
that but I cannot see JR. saying he has 18 months to go so he will not
replace them. Okay what happens here folks, we are going to throw in someone
inexperienced into a very demanding and over worked position. I think we
need to use our heads, what is really going on here.
