MINUTES OF OPERATIONS BRIEFING
Thursday, July 20, 2006, 8:00 a.m.

Dave Peralta, Chief Administrative Officer

Emergency Operations: Larry Ingargiola.

Community Development: Gina Hayes.
1. Nothing to report being this is my first operations briefing meeting.

Public Works and Water and Sewer: Chris Merkl
1. As we mentioned last week water bills were mailed out last week billing
is from May to present.
Curry reports:
1. Demolition and debris removal continues.
2. We are working on Paris Road drop station. The rock has been delivered
for the road and dumpers will be placed there on Monday.


Recovery: David Dysart. Not present
John Rahaim reports:
1. We are still gutting homes for the elderly and disabled residents, a
total of 1,565 to date plus a grand total of ll,000 that we know of have
been gutted by the Department of Recovery, contractors, Murphy or
homeowners.

Public Assistance:
Residential: Craig Taffaro.
1. The trailer removal program is still moving slow as well as pilot
programs also deliveries.
2. People who were renters before the storm can not put a trailer onto that
property, they will have to go into a trailer group site.
3. The housing rental law that the Parish President signed converting
single housing into rental is in effect.

Business: Charles Ponstein.

Private Non-Profit: Judy Hoffmeister.
1. We are having the Home Expo on Saturday, July 29, 2006 from 9:00 a.m. to
3:00 p.m. in the brown and white tent behind Government Complex. We have
over 12 vendors from different states that will be attending this expo.
Volunteers: Gidget McDougall. Not present.

Agriculture/Wildlife and Fisheries: Ricky Melerine. Not present.
Lake Borgne Basin Levee District: Bob Turner. Not present.

Medical: Dr. Bryan Bertucci. Not present.
1. We had a Louisiana Health Care meeting with some officials from New
Orleans. They want hospitals and health care for our residents. They would
like to form a committee from each parish to get medical input.
2. LRA meeting being held on August 10, 2006. We need some updated
information to report to them for residents that have returned gutted homes
and demolition numbers.
MS: Janie Fuller. Not present.

Public Safety: Sheriff's Office. Pete Tufaro.
1. We do not have anything major to report.


Fire Department: Warren Drewes
1. We had a house fire that the residents were just putting the finishing
touches on when they had an electrical short in a wall. We were able to save
the structure before getting into the attic.

Environmental Issues:
CDC and DEQ: Wayne Desselle.
1. Nothing major to report.

EPA: Not present.
Murphy Oil: Carl Zornes
1. 375,000 cubic yards of debris have been picked up.

Parish Government:
Council: Lynn Dean. Not present.
Parks and Recreation: John Metzler, Jr.
1. Everything going good.
External Affairs: No report.
Finance: Geremie Loupe. Not present.
Personnel: Kevin Clark. Not present.
Insurance: Mike Wiltz. Not present.
Long Term Recovery: Marvin LeBlanc. Not present.
