Is Shell Beach still existing after the storm tore it apart <naïve>? Are
there roads to carry people to the area to see a monument? Will it sustain
the next 140mph storm? (We've heard the houses didn't). It was possibly
placed there as a end of the world for St. Bernard as if to memorialize (in
your face, "storm") the dead and we're not sure if Shell Beach took the
blunt of the storm both in damage and loss of life. So, if someone wants to
see it, they'll take a Sunday and drive 40 miles to the wreckage. It's quite
tough getting through Chalmette to visit a monument. Moreover, it is a nice
gesture to see someone care about the dead, wounded and those incapacitated
financially as a reminder to us and others at some point in our lives and
beyond.
