St. Bernard bureau
A Chalmette man accused of molesting three juvenile family members has been
booked with additional sex crimes involving two other teenagers, authorities
said.
Troy Jarvis Sr., 39, 74 Packenham Ave., was booked late Tuesday with two
counts of aggravated rape, attempted aggravated rape and indecent behavior
with a juvenile, said Maj. John Doran, chief of detectives for the St.
Bernard Parish Sheriff's Office.
Doran said the investigation continues.
"We don't know how far this is going to go," Doran said. "This guy is one of
the most serious predators we've encountered in these parts."
On Monday, investigators booked Jarvis with three counts of sexual battery
and three counts of molesting a juvenile in connection with alleged crimes
involving a 15-year-old girl, a 13-year-old girl and a 10-year-old boy.
Jarvis is related to the children.
Doran said the investigation has since indicated that Jarvis molested two
other teens, a 15-year-old girl and a 13-year-old girl. Those girls are not
related to him, Doran said.
Jarvis remained in the St. Bernard Parish Correctional Facility on Wednesday
in lieu of $685,000.
