Here's my point, Westley.

How many of those gorgeous two-story homes on Palmisano and Corrine Estates
will be torn down to make Green Space? I don't feel MANY (with the
exception of a couple of folks thinking "enough is enough - cause I gotta
go"). These will be the exception for this immediate re-occupation in the
(gulp!) "Murphy Zone".

The upscale housing most assuredly will be reconstructed - remodeling those
beauties is in the best interest for perhaps selling and or living (since
they represent important people with important jobs around the parish and
vacinity, dignifiable people who have found their "dream homes" after years
of good-old fashioned Protestant-Ethic living, As compared with, just a 2-3
bedroom one story just streets over, deserted, etc. the condition may be
different. Most who cannot afford a home on the better "avenues" but God
love them for showing us the beauty of "the avenues" through Chrismastime
and holiday celebrations. The other areas in this Zone showed how much money
was available by not (being able to come) coming back, much less have the
privilege to fix their homes and live in it again on the onset (at this
time).

I, for one, wish I were in another's position, (and usually many of the
newer homes and owners' insurance coverages may have been there for them --
and if not, a "financial beating" occurred) - Possibly the pain was softened
by funds readily available to them. Oh, no. I must qualify that I give no
disrespect to the well-to-do. All of my 8 brothers and sisters are near or
over millionaire status while a hard-life presented me with a struggle. But
presently a "hurt" from the family (can you imagine not a single $5 check to
help me came from the siblings who all live away from the disaster area in
Louisiana!) :( has me gravely disappointed.

Sometimes it IS easier for a camel (or huge thread) to fit through the head
of a needle then to be in a position to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. I
pledge that if the Lord EVER grants me riches as such - that I may do what
is needed of me to help others in need. If I don't, I deserve to rot in
Hades. Perhaps this is His way of telling me I still have a chance to enter
HIS Kingdom at the time when pennies are placed over my eyes. For the
moment, riches are a matter of semantics: life, liberty and a pursuit of
happiness as granted to me by our democratic way of life.

Westley: "As crazy as it seems, this expanded Murphy zone has a high number
of people returning, some of whom could be expected to be well to do.
Besides including Corrine Estates and Palmisano Blvd which has people
rebuilding (not all may be in a FEMA trailer), but Pelitere Street has a
high ratio of residents rebuilding, many who are living in a FEMA trailer.

The Murphy map covers a large area and several neighborhoods/subdivisions.
You have to drill down to at least the subdivisions to get a better gauge of
who is coming back and who isn't.

With the exception of Corrine Estates, I don't see too many people in the
St. Mark neighborhood returning. My street, Mumphrey Rd, is practically
devoid of FEMA trailers. ==Westley"
