Syl,

The LRA has not nailed down all of the details in the many different
scenarios that it will face- that is the reason for their pilot program.
The one thing that is clear is any work done by a contractor or yourself
should have receipts, invoices, cancelled checks, and any other
documentation that you can get. Keep track of everything you do photograph
before and after as well.

We know that if you got an SBA loan and you get LRA money, then SBA will
likley take the LRA money and pay down the loan, not sure how they will
handle a private commercial loan or an outstanding mortgage. LRA has told
us that they are not interested in the SBA loan amount in determining one's
grant eligibility and the LRA does not pay SBA directly, that is an SBA
issue so I am speculating that what you get from the LRA is "yours" if you
have a private/commercial loan.

Good luck and God Bless,
Craig

In reference to this paragraph on the LRA money for repairing, does this
mean if you have already purchased some items (such as cabinets, sheetrock,
etc,) you won't get the money ? And what if you are doing the work yourself
& not using a contractor ?

If a home has an outstanding mortgage, the LRA will sign over repair money
jointly to the homeowner and the lender. If the loan has been paid off, the
money will go into a escrow account, and doled out to contractors as needed.
