The council members have committed to seeing that property integrity
and the re-establishment of owner occupancy remains the norm and not the
exception and that people who have invested in the return of the parish will
not have their property values pulled from under them by developers who are
in the business of a quick profit and not concerned about the long term
interest in the recovery and redevelopment of the parish.

BRAVO, well said, Craig.
By the way, the current rental price is often higher than a monthly payment
on a mortgage, as houses sell relatively cheap. Why would anyone wa nting to
move into the parish not buy at these times? Maybe once 'bought', people
would take care of their own property. (hopefully better than those who
still own those abandoned houses now).
B TW, that abandoned fema trailer that was pulled into the weeds in front of
a house near us is STILL there, untouched, and overgrown with weeds now.
Should we contact fema to have it removed? It makes the eyesore even worse,
and prevents anyone form cleaning up there. It was pulled into that front
yard crooked and just left to rot.
