State Representative Nita Rusich Hutter announced that the Department of
Motor Vehicles (DMV) will have the mobile unit returning at the St. Bernard
Port in Chalmette on Monday, October 16 through Friday, October 20. Office
hours will be from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. on these days.

Representative Hutter worked with the Dept. of Motor Vehicles and parish
officials to coordinate the schedule to have the mobile unit brought into
the parish. "Our citizens have endured so much in the past year and this is
just one small step to help make their lives a little easier, if even for a
short time."

The mobile office will offer a full range of services, including issuance of
new, renewal, and duplicate driver's licenses, vehicle registration and
titles, renewal of license plates, duplicate vehicle registrations and
titles, issuance of mobility impaired hang tags, and the issuance of new,
renewal, ad duplicate identification cards. Services must be paid for with
cash or checks. However, renewal and duplications of Class D and E driver's
licenses, identification cards and mobility impaired hang tags must be paid
for with cash.

Reminder that driver's licenses can be renewed up to six months in advance
of expiration. The DMV bus will return to St. Bernard on November 13 through
November 17.
