Finally had my appointment yesterday. Just a few things to pass on to those
who have not gone for their interview yet. You go in and they take your
picture and fingerprint you. Then they scan all of the documents you brought
with you. Then they go over the application you had submitted. We were there
for one hour & forty-five minutes. They told me about a loan you may be
eligible for (if the LRA money isn't enough). If you stay in your rebuilt
house for 5 years then you don't have to pay it back. This loan is only for
lower income persons. Also, when they deduct your homeowner's insurance
money received, they do not count any money paid to you for your garage,
fence, etc. Dwelling only is used. The inspector is supposed to contact us
within 3 weeks to schedule the inspection. She stated that as of the date of
your interview, the entire process should then take approximately 8 weeks.
