I spoke with a postal worker who told me that the plan was to move the
Violet boxes to the Poydras location.  The person also said that Meraux
boxes would remain in Chalmette.  The hours are not settled on yet.  I'm
guessing that if they put a temporary trailer, we will still be stuck with
only partial availability of our boxes.  A postal building inspector--(I
think that's what he was) said that we should address our
questions/complaints/comments to a Mr. Benny Machita--spelling?  The number
he gave me goes to the suite of offices where his is located.  The number is
504-589-1950.  I called Thursday and am still waiting for a response. Maybe
if we call, someone might get a definitive answer. Then again, maybe
not--the postal service is a lot like the federal government!
