Sorry, Bob. I wuzenth just bashing a demo. If it would have been President
Bush, it would appear to come in a chaotic mission to remove our destroyed
area from public eye. Loving the Saints by the millions is equally important
as eating as each casts his/her support for this team. It's so personal, and
we shouldn't have done this to New York after 9/11 in national press as if
we (or Senator Vitter) are/is saying: "(Get Over It), . . your Giants'
Fairy Tale Season is Over when the Saints come to Town!"
<However, it is strange how the paper pits demos vs. republicans in this
matter <G>.
Still, being uncough is an observation for one who has chosen to run
recently for President, and .. Using "Fairy Tale" as distasteful to so many
who want to believe their diversive love for their home team could mean
losing the pain if not just for a few weeks.
I, my friend, am not the only person disappointed, enraged, or whatever by
his remarks. It's a sensitive thing when one goes above and beyond saying MY
Chicago Bears will beat your Saints on Sunday. BTW, would you have found it
equally offensive if a Conservative national politican (Say, Bush) would
have made the offensive comment at a time when our team's success helps us
measure hope and recovery and it certainly appears to be doing this these
days.
We southeast (and perimeter Louisianans folks have keen memories of a
distasteful moment by Obama/whomever and perhaps the memory will continue
when it's time to vote.
I'm hoping but not certain about the Saint's victory, but pray that it's so
just to sew up an open mouth of flies when it wasn't needed (even as a joke
that went sour). Saying my Bears should beat your Saints should have been
more proper than Inciting the theatre of hope with a yelling of "Fire!!!
before our eyes and the nation"
