If this plan lays out and extended length of time, the parish could be
subjected to tens of thousands of lawsuits which can also delay payments.
Everyone loses if Guidelines are not adopted, starting from the timeline
back in August when a decision was to have been met.

Since the adoption of guidelines appear to benefit the 25% who are in the
parish, the 75% still in financial mourning are affected as well who have
not yet made their decision to return because they choose to await how
things pan out in their decision-making process. Playing hardball may come
back to bite most in the backside, or so it seems

--------

Heard on local TV news Road Home would not make grants/loans to St Bernard
parish homeowners because the parish has not adopted FEMA flood guidelines
yet.

Does anyone know any details or official news on this? Is this correct? All
we need now is another reason to hold up Road Home process.

Thought August 2006 was deadline to get grandfathered before adoption of
FEMA guidelines. What happened?
