Two people now I hear from were offered a 'grant' but only if they give up
their remaining land.
What kind of grant is that? You just sell your land for a fixed price? Why
cant people at least keep their land even though they cant afford to rebuild
on the site?
I am talking about people in the lower parish who cant afford the insurance
(if even available) for a rebuilt house but want to keep the land as they
are trying to work their fishing boats from there. Giving up that land means
probably it will be sold to sports and the commercial fishing industry is
further doomed. Does NOT seem right and is certainly NOT a road 'home'. The
road home seems to be the same one that is paved with good intentions, and
we all know where that one leads.
