Dear Ministry Partner

January 2007 will be coming to a close this coming week! The following is my
personal reflection on the past 30 day's of LEAP.---- I can remember the
morning I picked up the first three LEAP students. I was excited to get them
to the school house so they could eat a healthy breakfast of cereal, fresh
fruit, juice, and milk. As they finished breakfast at 9:00 A.M., they began
studies with Ms. Angela Howard. As I monitored their academic progress
during that first week, I realized these three girls (whom are friends) was
not academically motivated due to a negative self belief system. For the
next few weeks, heated confrontations was almost daily. Detentions followed
confrontations due to disrespect, refusing to complete school chores at end
of day, swearing, not being awake when school van arrives in morning, etc.

As we enter our fifth week of academic study, our day's has calmed down.
Three new at-risk teen girls enrolled to start class on Monday. The first
three girls are awake in the morning, completing school chores, and are
motivated enough to complete daily academic assignments. We still have much
more to accomplish with your support! The Life Educational Alterative
Program is changing lives, one day at a time. Kenny Forsyth, MSC

LEAP Basic Needs List

We are being asked on a frequent basis! How can I help with LEAP's basic
needs. Below are ways you can help!

* Walmart gift cards to be used for gasoline for school van.
* Office Depot gift cards to be used for office/student supplies.
* Local grocery store gift cards to be used for cereal, fresh fruit,
milk, juice, paper products, and lunch meat .

Thank You!

Operation Christmas Wish Successful

Thank you to all who participated in the "Christmas Wish Campaign".

Christmas Wish was initiated in mid December 2006, when our United Way 6
month grant funding was unexpectedly cut over 60% from proposed amount.
Christmas Wish collected over $3,000.00 of donations from across the metro
New Orleans area. Robby Showalter of Boasso America Corporation was
instrumental in the success of Christmas Wish. Thank you Robby!

Without your generosity, LEAP would not have opened, and St. Bernard Parish
at-risk/troubled teens would not have a chance to enroll in a program that
could change their live's.

It's not to late to mail your donation to Christmas Wish. Make check
payable-- LEAP, and mail to 1519 E. Judge Perez Dr. Suite 6, Chalmette, LA.
