pck,

if you are not returning and selling to the LRA it is better for the parish
as a whole because of the potential of having more homes than the market
will support. Obviously, if you are selling the house on the open market,
you will need to keep it up.

Good luck and God Bless,
Craig

Recently I read an article, "St. Bernard puts wrecking ball to work", that
you posted written by Bazile and Russell. One of the quotes taken from the
article, "The council's Executive-Finance Committee passed a resolution last
week encouraging residents who want to sell to LRA to sign up with the
parish to have their structures demolished." Am I to understand the
reasoning behind this resolution is to prevent low income housing from
overtaking St. Bernard? My home is structurally sound even though it was
flooded with 10 feet of marsh water, and I am sure it could be renovated for
a family to live in comfortably. I have not decided yet to sell to the LRA
or to sell it on my own. That will depend on what the LRA offers. However,
I figure I will be able to recoup more financially if there is a structure
on the property when I sell it. Please inform me of the council's reasoning
if I have misunderstood.
