"I congratulate Paul Pastorek for winning BESE's support as Superintendent of Education. Paul has a strong committment to public education in Louisiana. He shares my passion for early childhood education and stands committed to sustained education reform. 

"Cecil Picard was a true champion of Louisiana's young people and a tireless advocate of reform. Paul will continue to advance the vision set forth by Cecil and my Administration.
