Thanks, Wesley. Although I can understand how some might believe bouncing me
is their choice of appropriateness. However, I really wish to illustrate
from my viewpoint that how even the most unaccepted writers, scorned for
their opinions on topics which may or may not have been popular are
challenged because of their wide-spreading beliefs.

Contemporary writers, including many great ones as Ron Chapman, whose brave
and controversial articles are published weekly in article from the St.
Bernard Voice, "Point of View", are loved by many and scorned by others
because of his opinions regarding his beloved, St. Bernard Parish.

Mr. Dean, though I agree 10% and disagree 90% because of what I coin
excessiveness, unevenness, frugality and bizarre at times are his opinions,
and I have to respect his American freedom of speech/press to offer what he
feels is the right ideas/things to do.

Craig T., whom I agree most of the time, but is in position as elected
official to do what he feels is best for da parish, also needs our respect.
We know that if he gets to where MOST parishioners feel he is ineffective,
prone to serious mishaps or malfeasance in office or otherwise, can be voted
out of office with the power of the ballot box.

If someone disagrees, offer opinions or counter the statements with
argumentative (in good taste of course, backed by facts if statements are
misquoted or otherwise), reasoning, or expert testimony, etc. ie. "you're a
fuggin' idiot whose mama shovels manure" is NOT a proper dialog without
"pissin' off da pope, perhaps) <G>. Writing is like thinking. "garbage
in-garbage out" and when writing to the editor/forums of good taste (such as
Wesley's), don't write anything you wouldn't want to offend your priest,
minister or mother in a letter. Diplomacy applies and good, common sense
goes a long way in making people get your point across.

I hope most can understand that I've been contributing, yes, as what most
call a "devil's advocate", but surely, I'm not imitating one of demonic
namesake in what I deem facts or opinions without giving much needed
consideration to what I write. I make lots of mistakes, typos and sometimes
would embarrass my proofreader as former editor/publisher. However, as an
activist whose portion of my cerebrum wishes to push the issues to get
something done, I sometimes appear to be a hatemonger. Superficially, most
folks who truly love their community do something about it. This is my way
of bringing many ignored issues to light. Since I am physically unable (age
and muscle dysfunction <G>), I choose to attack what I deem
improper/inappropriate and not to an acceptable standard in print. Please do
not agree on everything you read, because "you don't want to hear the truth,
feel it's negative", etc. as though the end of the world hinges on what I
believe/think. But given lots of false optimism is more dangerous than lots
of positive negativism that truly gets results and lights a fire under the
a$$es of those whom we trust to get the job done, pledged/promises or never
comes through for us (ex. What's the State of Louisiana doing with the Feds
to get us $$$ we needed 19 months ago?).

In essence, love me or leave me--my heart is and shall be colored with the
blood of da parish no matter if I find myself "home" in St. Bernard or
elsewhere. It DOES NOT MATTER. Never does, never shall it be so. I know who
I am and that's what forever counts to me.

--jer--

Ps. Wesley, cancel me or leave me on. I thank you for the privilege of
saying how I feel. Others do thank you also, I am sure (but, that's my
opinion, isn't it? <G>).
