"There's nothing wrong with Democrats, I've been one my whole life. Like
he said, it doesn't matter is you're rep or dem, just govern in the right
way. And for that comment alone, I'd vote for him. And you know he has to be
pretty peeved at the rep for they way we were handled following Katrina. I
can truly understand his not having any loyalty, they didn't for a red
state. Wendy"

**Well, Wendy. Surely, there is ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong with individuals
who choose to be Democrats <g>. I was one for 25 years. See? I turned out OK
<SMILE>. I mentioned that the party of my father (and mine initially) is NOT
the party it once had been. Where once, the only concern I had as a Democrat
was whether the poor got poorer while the richer..well, you know.

I'm still not rich, but I can tell you that I followed my heart and soul.
Both parties have "minuses" attached to it in nature as NO system is
perfect. However, the values, morals, appeals and concepts of my heart
closely parallel what the conservative party has to offer. When I was a
youngster many, many, years ago we didn't have violence in our hearts
because God told us what to do and expect.

That's changed.

Now, I try with every attempt to follow the rules of God and man. From what
I learned, humans were NEVER intended to totally be free - of God and laws
which were designed by and for Him. They need laws to curtain them because
of weaknesses and temptations. I don't wish to get into religion, because I
can't win against those who don't believe: "Nothing will suffice for the
non-believer".

However, back to Democrats. Many are morally strong, but have remained in
the party through loyalty of their parents (which is probably a cop-out). IF
one hasn't noticed drastic changes (quite a few people in the U.S. who
understand to what I am referring here really do not have to be instructed
on the meaning of these changes. Traditionally, Conservatives view
contradiction as a crossroad where one road leads to oblivion.

Overtime, they just life-experience it.

Democrats might view conservatives from a different perspective. I cannot
fault them for it, because they truly believe likewise--that conservatives
are all rich, white, hypercritical old guys who want battles in their
everyday lives and around the world.

Hence, the founding fathers modeled their government to include more than
one party (Socialism/Communism/Nazism or Monarchy, etc). Through the
evolution of the political party, Federalist, Whigs, Republican, Democrat,
Independent, whatever, political choices are adhered to like the kind of
clothes one loves to wear. I'm proud to be a conservative American these
days after my life-long experience dictated where I needed to be at this
stage of my life.

Again, there IS a difference between Rep and Dem philosophies and political
differences bear me out on this. Otherwise, why do we believe as a democrat
that (blah, blah, blah) or as Conservatives that (blah, blah, blah)? That is
because we all have our own convictions about how our governments should be
conducted or the manner in which our society should act. Some bend in their
philosophies, of course, while others choose to remain steadfast in their
beliefs.

I like Walter and knew him as a St. Bernardian. But, it is not the proper
time we need Walter at the Gubernatorial position. Furthermore, I believed
in Bobby when he ran vs. Blanco -- only to fall short of his victory.
Perhaps now, we'll get a chance to see him do his thing. If he doesn't
please us as someone who is effective or is not successful as our state
leader, etc, hopefully, we'll find someone who can. At no other time in
Louisiana history is a success story needed more than at this stage of our
lives.
