[StBernard] snopes

snopes and urbanlegens, about.com etc are good resources to check for some
more background of many of those emails that clutter our boxes.
You are right that 'they' can be wrong as well, yet they do usually give a
lead to go find where or where not something was originally written (and
just because its written does not make it so).

The particular paragraphs of this woman were supposedly satire, though we
know that all satire is based on a kernel of truth. So yes, it does show her
position on such matters.

On the other hand, I have come to disbelief all such emails that come
around, especially the ones that come around again and again over the years,
sometimes in a little altered form.

Some I do check out on these legend sites to see what source there may be.
Most I just delete.

In todays world of instant communication, it is tempting to some people to
create such false emails and spread them in seconds to thousands.
Unfortunately it has often caused innocent people to be slandered and some
important true news gets wrongly discounted.

As an immigrant (legal) myself, I am keenly sensitive to any emails that
include signs of hate toward people other than born here. So I might respond
a bit more aggressively than I normally would in a situation.
Wishing we could just all consider each other as citizens of the world.
Borders change. People are people.
