John,

Currently in Northeast Alabama- Fort Payne Area. Like you had flood, but
did it really cover what we lost- I think not. Surviving is pretty much what
I'm doing, and raising 4 kids- 2 teens, a two year old and a 8 mo old.
Haven't worked yet, because of the limbo many of us faced for the 18 months.
Not many jobs would be sympathetic to the running back and forth to
Louisiana that I have done- 22 trips since the storm. Was thinking of
starting a restaurant, but Katrina has made me gun shy and am afraid of
using what savings I have because I never know when I'll need it. So for
now, making do and waiting, much like everyone else.

By the way, I respect your opinion as well, just probably a bit cranky as
of late, no real adult conversation. All I get is Barney, Callou, and
Teletubbies 12 hours a day, oh I forgot Elmo (we have to fast forward to the
last 20 minutes of Sesame Street so she can see Elmo only.) I think I'm
going brain dead up here. My highlight is going outside to go "jumpy on the
circle," my kids trampoline. When they finally crash, I get to check email
and practice different recipes and read a lot on the Food Network. Other
than that, I'm breathing!!!

Wendy
