St. Bernard Parish will discontinue its curbside pickup of new construction
debris on Sunday, the parish said in a news release.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency will no longer reimburse the parish
for curbside pickup of new construction debris after June 10, the news
release said.

The news release said such debris includes lumber, wallboard, insulation and
boxes in which the items were packed.

The news release said contractors will be responsible hauling away new
construction debris.

Residents and contractors living in the parish can also bring new
construction debris to the Paris Road landfill in Chalmette or the E.J. Gore
pumping station in Poydras.

Contractors from outside the parish must make arrangements to handle the
debris elsewhere, the news release said.
