Shine Productions and Flour Power Playhouse, 2001 Paris Road in
Chalmette, offer three shows for summer theater goers:

June 22nd & 23rd - "The Complete Works of Shakespeare (Abridged)"
starring Christian Bordelon, Barry Lemoine and Will Schneider. Tickets are
$15 at the door, and $12 in advance. Doors open at 7:30 pm, show begins at
8 pm. Tickets available by calling Barry Lemoine at 504.301.8770, or at

July 20 & 21st "Shine After Dark-Comedy Showcase" for mature
audiences, this show is returning to the Post K stage with its usual mix of
music and comedy that's naughty and nice. Contact info, times and admission
are same as above.

And if you love "dem Saints," break out your black and gold for
"Bless you Boys: A History of the Saints Franchaise" A comedic look at our
beloved Saints history, debuts at Flour Power Playhouse on August 24th,
25th, 31st and September 1st.

Bless You, Boys, (or as we like to say, the history of The New
Orleans Saints (Abridged), takes place in heaven and instead of your life
flashing in front of your eyes - we flash the history and heartache of our
beloved black and gold. Featuring sketch comedy (Archie Manning in My Three
Sons, Rickey Williams and MIke Ditka as the Odd Couple)
the audiiences embarkes on a comeidic romp through the last 40 years
of the franchise.

From the Voices Foundation:

"The Voices of Louisiana," a historical and sometimes hysterical
look at the colorful characters that have shaped our history - from the
Purchase to the Present. The Evacuation Theatre Troupe toured this show
across the midwest last fall as well as locally. Our coming producions of
this not-to-miss performances are:

July 27th at Nunez Community College in Chalmette.
July 28th at the Destrehan Plantation's Mule Barn.
October 4th at Southeastern Louisiana's Fanfare.


FROM FLOUR POWER, OUR FAVORITE LOCAL EAT-AND-DRINK-ERY:

The new proprietor of Flour Power, Annette Campo, says she wants to
bring laughter, lunch, and a little theater back into our communtiy. "We
are just trying to find a little bit of home in every grocery, cafe or
diner, as we continue to keep the homey atmosphere of the parish alive."

7am-8pm Monday-Friday
10am-6pm Saturday
