Violet couple robbed in trailer
Gunman forces way through door Wednesday, June 20, 2007St. Bernard bureau
A St. Bernard Parish couple were robbed at gunpoint by a man who forced his
way into their FEMA trailer, the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff's Office said.

The couple were not hurt, the Sheriff's Office said in a news release. The
gunman in the June 13 robbery remains unidentified and at large.

A 27-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man living in the trailer in the 6400
block of First Street in Violet were getting ready for bed around 1 a.m.
when there was knock at the trailer's door, the news release said. The woman
said she cracked the door to see who was there and a man forced his way
inside the trailer. She told investigators he was brandishing a small,
silver revolver.

The gunman demanded money and the woman handed him an unspecified amount,
the news release said. He then fled.

The Sheriff's Office is continuing its investigation. Anyone with
information is asked to call the Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation
Bureau at (504) 278-7630 or the Communications Division at (504) 271-2501.
