BATON ROUGE - Governor Kathleen Babineaux Blanco is joined by Louisiana Economic Development Secretary Michael Olivier as she leads a business development mission to London to encourage investments in Louisiana's growth. Gov. Blanco is sending updates to constituents back home through e-postcards.

Louisiana is truly positioned for economic success, and as I wrap up my business development mission to London, I am confident in our prospects for attracting new investments. Over the past few days, LED Secretary Michael Olivier and I have touted the opportunities for business leaders to find success in Louisiana. Whether by marketing available sites around the state to companies looking to build or expand, or attracting interest through economic development programs, Louisiana has the elements executives look for when deciding to invest. Today we hosted a well-attended Gulf Opportunity Zone seminar to let the business community know of the immediate benefits of becoming involved in our recovery. We also were welcomed at a special reception at Britain's Parliament as part of their Friends of Louisiana endeavor to capitalize on our relationship with the United Kingdom and make key contacts in the international business sector. This mission has served to build on this! friendship, making our presence known and igniting the interest of executives, so that when they make investment decisions, they have a clear understanding of all Louisiana has to offer.
