"Now Jerry, it seems that only you could take a simple
request and try to turn it into something else trying
to imply I'm embarrassed about a nickname.
You state you consider the opposition party your enemy. That's rather sad.
I consider them merely the opposition party. That means I may (and usually
do) disagree with a lot that the Republican party believes. However, I may
(and do) agree with some issues of the conservative party. As I wrote, you
know nothing about me. --Jim"

Jerry Responds:

Jim, it's not important that I don't know you. What is important is that I
got chastised for using one's nickname. As people call me Jer, it's a
nickname for some names. No problem with that. If I thought the name,
"Jimbo" stemmed from a demeaning name for "Bozo" or something, you'd
probably believe I was disrespecting your parents for calling you such. I
had parents and believe it or not, I believe most people get tagged with
numerous nicknames (whether it be acceptable or not by one's parents).

I'd be amiss if I would disrespect your parents by not calling you their
favorite moniker. I call everyone Jimbo (even my cousins), but that does NOT
mean I have animosity for them.

Regarding your party affiliation, the word enemy does not refer to a death
threat, by any means. It does mean what we refer to in political circles:
"political enemies" of opposite parties for clarification.

OK, your issues ARE my issues (IN Reverse, of course<smile>..).. We all have
grave dislikes about politics, in general. But, consider this:

"How boring it would be if there would not be more than ONE political party
to root?"

BTW, good luck on your political choice. If your official wins, I'd like to
compensate and send you $3.00 for a beer or perhaps some--KOOL-AID" <g>>
