Dear Fellow Louisianans

With early voting starting tomorrow, I wanted you to hear the latest news
from my campaign. This has been an outstanding week for Team Georges as
people have rallied around our independent, positive campaign and the
comprehensive Georges Plan for Louisiana. Yardsign and bumpersticker
requests are exceeding our expectations and we are working hard to fill them
across the state. If you want to show your friends and neighbors that you

Last night, it was great to have another opportunity to debate my fellow
candidates, including Bobby Jindal, who has decided to only 3 of the debates
being held between qualifying and the election. I have attached my
post-debate press releases to this email. KTBS, the host, declared me the
winner of this debate because I was the only candidate who answered the
questions with clear, specific plans and who did not engage in partisain
bickering.

Shreveport and Baton Rouge. It is another one co-sponsored by the League of
Women Voters, and I commend the League for the outstanding wor k they do to
inform voters.

GEORGES WINS ANOTHER DEBATE

(October 4) Gubernatorial candidate John Georges won the third televised
debate of this election season tonight in a forum broadcast by KTBS and Red
River Radio in Shreveport.

The public is beginning to understand that for Louisiana to get ahead, it is
going to take a leader who can manage government like a business, Georges
said after the debate.

In a televised debate interrupted by impromptu arguments between the other
candidates, Georges stood out, rising above jabs from Bobby Jindal.

Bobby Jindal lost his self-control, Georges said. I refused to disrespect
the audience and the organizers of the debate by engaging in off-format
arguing. Bobby is clearly losing ground. Im the only candidate who was on
that platform tonight who remained sensible and in control of my emotions,
and who answered the questions at hand.

The debate came at the end of a full day of campaigning in Shreveport,
during which Georges picked up the endorsements of the Rev. Henry Blake,
president of the Louisiana State Baptist Convention and treasurer of the
National Baptist Convention, and Bishop Larry Brandon.

Our campaign continues to gain traction while the others remain in limbo,
Georges said. Im increasingly confident of our place in the runoff after
Oct. 20 and of our victory on Nov. 17.

GEORGES: VOTERS SHOULNT HIRE AN APPLICANT WHO DODGES THE JOB INTERVIEW

(October 1, 2007) Independent gubernatorial candidate John Georges said
Monday night that voters should not hire Bobby Jindal as governor because he
avoids the job interview.

Georges said voters should be wary of Jindal because he did not show up for
the New Orleans debate Monday night sponsored by WDSU and the League of
Women Voters, and has only met his opponents once.

When someone applies for a job and doesnt show up for the interview, you
dont give him the job, Georges said, triggering applause from the audience
at the televised debate at the University of New Orleans campus.

No one should get a free ride. We should always hold people accountable,
Georges said.

Georges noted that Jindal is part of the reason there is a shortfall in The
Road Home program.

Jindal is a member of Congress who went along with a federal hurricane
recovery plan that favored Mississippi, a fact that was underscored recently
in a study by the Louisiana Public Affairs Research Council.

The Road Home was not fully funded because Washington didnt fund it, Georges
said. Whos in Washington? Bobby Jindal. I say dont come home, Mr. Jindal,
until you get the money.

Georges pledged to appoint a state recovery director to help expedite
rebuilding of areas damaged by Hurricanes Karina and Rita. The City of New
Orleans has a single recovery director. The federal government has a
director. But the state has no single point of contact for recovery efforts.

I will have a recovery czar that I will announce within 30 days of taking
office, Georges said.

This person will report directly to the governor. He would not be a
bureaucrat, Georges said. We need it. It has been two years now, and the
recovery is stalled. I know I can do it. I rebuilt my church and my
businesses in 90 days.

Georges, who grew his family-owned grocery wholesale business from 60 to 600
employees, said he wouldnt hire anyone who wouldnt appear to answer
questions.
