 The Lafourche Parish Council exceeded its authority in adopting preliminary
Advisory Based Flood Elevation maps.  The provisions of LA R.S. 33:1236(38)
(b) limit the power of the governing authority to adopt flood elevations
only insofar as is necessary for a parish to use such powers and authority
to qualify under the National Flood Insurance Plan.  (Braud)
