Please, if you have your pool pumped, have the courtesy to have it done
right. Some neighbors have hired those who pump into a vacuum truck (best
way), and some have had the hoses run to the storm drains (works, but not
good to put muck into the storm drains). However, some took the cheapest way
and had the workers use wheelbarrows to bring it to the nearest canal which
made a stinky, awful mess and left it for the neighbors to clean up, and
others dumped it onto the nearest empty lot or the neutral ground. Ditto the
ones that just pumped it into the street. The sheriff dept and parish, if
called out, will come and stop it because of the health issue and the mess
it causes to the neighborhood and streets, and if you have neighbors who
have moved back, don't expect a warm welcome back if you don't take care of
it the right way. ddk
