Two local organizations will provide free Christmas meals for St. Bernard
Parish residents this weekend.

Celebration Church, 7500 W. Judge Perez Drive, Arabi, will feed as many as
1,000 residents Saturday at C.F. Rowley School, 49 Madison Ave., Chalmette.

To prepare properly, organizers are asking residents to make reservations
before Friday by calling (504) 202-7055 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

The Rev. Craig Ratliff, pastor of Celebration Church, said serving times are
at noon, 12:45, 1:15 and 1:45 p.m.

Entertainment will be provided, and giveaways will be held at each serving
time.

The Community Center of St. Bernard will hold its holiday celebration Sunday
from 1 to 4 p.m. at the center, 1107 LeBeau St. in Arabi.

The event will include food, caroling, a tree to decorate and a visit from
Santa Claus.

St. Bernard Parish residents with children ages 12 and younger who are in
need of toys for Christmas can contact Jason Horwitz, the center's
distribution director, at (504) 281-2512. The deadline is Thursday at 4 p.m.
