[StBernard] correction about truck stop

I need to make a correction to my earlier post a few minutes ago. Actually,
the council didn't vote to deny. There was no motion made to either approve
or deny, therefore the item could not be voted on and therefore it died.
The law is that if there is no motion to approve, the applicant cannot
re-apply for at least two years, but I have to research the length of time
before they could re-apply at the same property. This land owner or any
other land owner has the right to apply for a C-3 zone on other property
elsewhere in the parish for a truck stop/casino, of course. Never
underestimate citizen input in the public hearing process. Also, on January
1, 2008 state law increases the distance from a truck stop casino property
line significantly more than the current 500 feet, so that has to be met to
even apply now.  ddk
