PROTECT THE ONES YOU LOVE: Police investigating a single-car crash in
   Citrus Heights, Calif., suspected that the driver was drunk. Witnesses
   say he was speeding on a city street and crashed into a tree. The
   driver, who was not identified by police, was seriously injured. They
   noted he was not wearing a seatbelt, but that the 12-pack of beer on
   the seat next to him was. The beer was not injured. (Sacramento Bee)
