[StBernard] Response to Gaby

My comments are IN BOLD LETTERS.
I HAVE SUBSCRIBED TO THIS SITE FROM ITS BEGINNING, SO WE COULD KEEP UP WITH
WHAT IS GOING ON IN THE PARISH AND ABIDE BY ALL RULES AND REGULATIONS SET
FORTH, WHICH WE HAVE. WE HAVE LIVED THERE MOST OF OUR LIVES.
AS PREVIOULY WROTE, WE ARE BOTH IN OUR 70'S & RETIRED AND IT WAS A VERY
DIFFICULT DECISION NOT TO RETURN TO ST. BERNARD. LIVING IN JEFFERSON IS NOT
QUITE LIKE LIVING IN THE PARISH. WE DO MISS IT VERY MUCH.

Now really, anonymous, at least put your name if you tell others to go
public on TV.
I AGREE WITH YOU TOTALLY HERE.
No one singled out any particular family to demo their house.
This is a CARING step forward FOR the parish as a whole.
I UNDERSTAND THIS COMPLETELY! WE ARE VERY CARING PERSONS TO THE EXTENT THAT
NOT USE THE ROAD HOME PROGRAM (AND TOLD THEM TO GIVE SOMEONE ELSE THIS
WHO COMPLETELY LOST EVERYTHING AND HAD NO INSURANCE.) AT LEAST OUR (2) HOMES
STRUCTURALLY SOUND & WE HAD INSURANCE. WE ARE THANKFUL TO GOD FOR THAT.
Read the whole of Craig's statement, and Dave P's as well.
If a house is 'untouched' it will be 'touched' by the parish.
If it is 'touched' by the owners, then it will be 'untouched' by the parish.
If there is a mistake, there is a process to correct it.
I something was done more timely, none of this would be necessary.
The parish as a whole can't just sit here and do nothing in case some few
houses do have plans (which they probably only have because of the actions).
WE CANNOT UNDERSTAND THE PROCESS USED AND HOW THIS PROCESS NOTIFIED
RESIDENTS. WE UNDERSTAND TOTALLY THIS IS A MASSIVE STEP FORWARD FOR THOSE OF
YOU WHO CHOSE TO STAY IN ST. BERNARD (AND WE APPLAUD THAT); ST. BERNARD DOES
HAVE A WEBSITE AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN ANNOUNCED THERE, NOT IN THE ST. BERNARD
VOICE WHOM EVERYONE DOES NOT SUBSCRIBE TO, ESPECIALLY THOSE THAT LIVE
ELSEWHERE AND OUT OF THE STATE. NOT ALL PEOPLE ARE FORTUNATE TO HAVE
WE HAVE MANY FRIENDS & FAMILY STILL THERE & ARE REBUILDING, IF IT HAD NOT
BEEN FOR THEM, WE WOULD NOT HAVE KNOWN ABOUT THIS DEMO LIST. I IMMEDIATELY
CALLED THOSE LIVING OUT OF THE STATE AND NOTIFIED THEM. NEEDLESS TO SAY,
THEY WERE QUITE UPSET.
WE WERE TOLD WHEN WE WENT DOWN THERE LAST MONDAY, THE PARISH NEEDS TO KNOW
OUR INTENTIONS. IT DOESN'T TAKE A PHILADELPHIA LAWYER TO FIGURE OUT WHAT
INTENTIONS ARE WHEN YOU HAVE A REAL ESTATE SIGN FOR SALE ON YOUR PROPERTY. I
CAN UNDERSTAND IF YOUR HOUSE IS COMPLETELY DERELICT AND NOTHING HAS BEEN
DONE AT ALL.
Endure? We continue to endure living in this left and forgotten parish, (at
least that is what it looks like). I for one appreciate the forward steps
our parish authorities are taking.
YOU CHOSE TO STAY FOR MANY REASONS, I AM SURE. BUT YOU ARE CLOSER TO
ACTUALLY WHAT IS GOING ON. TAXES HAVE BEEN PAID ON BOTH PROPERTIES AND WE
ALSO PAY TAXES WHERE WE PRESENTLY LIVE. I CALL THAT TRIPLE JEOPARDY.
WE PRAY FOR ALL OF YOU EVERYDAY WHO CHOSE TO STAY. OUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS
ARE ALWAYS WITH ST. BERNARD PARISH.
And yes, my house was wrongly on a demo list once as well, because of an
address snafu. I followed proper procedure and all was cool. Goodness.
Nobody is perfect, but we continue to strive.
THANK GOD WE LIVE CLOSE ENOUGH FOR US TO GO BACK AND SIGN THIS APPEAL BUT I
FEEL SORRY FOR THOSE WHO ARE NOT!
God bless, and wishing you happiness in the future, wherever y'all are.
GOD BLESS YOU AND ALL OF YOU
GOOD LUCK & GOD BLESS YOU TOO AND ALL ST. BERNARDANS. THANK YOU FOR THE
OPPORTUNITY TO VENT OUR FEELINGS.
IF ANYTHING SOUNDS SARCASTIC, IT WAS NOT INTENDED, WE APOLOGIZE.
Pat & Jay
