Four men have been booked in three separate incidents in St. Bernard Parish
in which authorities recovered heroin, cocaine and marijuana, sheriff's
reports said.

On Tuesday, deputies stopped a vehicle driven by Bernard Turner, 23, of No.
6 Jupiter Circle, Meraux at the intersection of East Judge Perez Drive and
Meraux Field 1 in Meraux. During their stop, deputies recovered 453 grams of
marijuana with an estimated street value of $1,600. Turner and another man
inside the vehicle, Patrick Chapman, 22, of 5444 Royal St., New Orleans,
were booked with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and
possession of marijuana. Turner was also cited for speeding, having an
expired license plate and improper equipment.

Later Tuesday, deputies detained Williard Major, 26, of 2216 Guerra Drive,
Violet, who was wanted on an outstanding warrant for a marijuana-related
offense, the reports said. He had 7.1 grams of crack cocaine with a street
value of $700 in his possession. Major was booked with possession of crack
with intent to distribute and possession of marijuana.

Finally, Tuesday night deputies arrested a New Orleans man who had arranged
to sell undercover officers heroin, the reports said.

Lionel A. Thomas Jr., 23, of 5126 Kendal Drive, was stopped at the
intersection of St. Bernard Highway and Jean Lafitte Parkway in Chalmette
while on his way to deliver heroin to the undercover officers, said Maj.
Chad Clark, head of the narcotics division.

Thomas was found with 1.4 grams of heroin and was booked with possession
with intent to distribute heroin.

Clark said more arrests could be pending as investigators think Thomas was
supplying others in St. Bernard Parish with heroin.
