St. Bernard Irish, Italian, Islenos Community Parade



The St. Bernard Irish, Italian, Islenos Community Parade is set to roll
Sunday, March 9 at 1:00 PM. This year's parade will consist of 48 floats
and over 2,000 riders. The parade will take on the traditional St.
Bernard Parade route starting at the Civic Center proceeding west to Rowley
Blvd, then U-Turn and head east to Campagna, then U-Turn and head back west
ending at the Civic Center.

Throws in the parade will include Irish and Italian Beads, Special Cups,
T-Shirts and the customary produce. The feature of the parade will be the
wooden nickel, which can be redeemed for 8 ounces of pickle meat at Main's
Market. Parade captain, Walter Boasso, who will be on the Captains float,
will toss these.

The St. Bernard Irish Italian marching club will precede the parade and will
hit the streets at 12 noon. Al Claude, marching club captain, will lead 50
marchers who will be giving out the traditional flowers.
