Was anyone able to corner a councilperson to ask why they had to go into
Executive Session to discuss this before coming back to the public meeting?

(sigh) Is it the same old, same old, starting up already? Hidden behind
closed doors?

St Bernard Parish Council Meeting
Tuesday March 18, 2008

Amended Agenda

29. Motion to go into Executive Session to discuss Fire Department
matters.

Council resumed regular meeting after executive session. At which
time a
motion and vote was made and passed for a resolution concerning the
sale of
Jacob Drive Firestation to Murphy Oil Corporation. The resolution is
by the
Council's motion for St Bernard Parish Government (administration)
to
participate in discussion for the voluntary buyout of Jacob Drive
Firestation with Murphy Oil Corporation for $200,000. Operations are
to
continue at the Jacob Drive Firestation until an alternate
firestation is
built. The administration will begin its participation in these
discussions
with Murphy. The sale cannot be made without an ordinance.
