ENVIROSCHOOL FOR COMMUNITIES TRAINING SESSIONS SET TO BEGIN
MAY 8, 2008.

EDUCATION + MEANINGFUL PARTICIPATION
= COMMUNITY EMPOWERMENT

The Enviroschool for communities training program is a series of training sessions designed to educate communities and encourage meaningful participation in the regulatory process. The goal is for communities to become informed participants and skilled on how to access and utilize informational resources for effective communication and dialogue with stakeholders. Training sessions will focus on a series of regulatory topics including:

· Environmental Regulations & Standards 101: A Broad Overview
· Access 101: A Hands-On Approach (computer training-only in Baton Rouge)
· Public Participation 101: Understanding the Process
· Permits 101: Understanding Permits & The Components


Please join us for our first session in this series:
LDEQ 101: Understanding the Agency.
This session will focus on:

* understanding the vision and mission of the agency
* challenges and opportunities
* the organization and function of each office and division

Please register for one of the sessions being held throughout the state.

* May 8, 2008, 10 AM-12 PM, Baton Rouge
* May 15, 2008, 10 AM-12PM, Shreveport
* May 21, 2008, 10AM-12PM, New Orleans
* May 29, 2008, 10QM-12PM, Lake Charles
