Sounds like a good start. However, think about this: Pre-storm the pop was
around 67k? How many beds did CMC have, 180 or so? (A quick google yielded
this:

CHALMETTE MEDICAL CENTER
9001 PATRICIA STREET
CHALMETTE, LA 70043

SHORT TERM HOSPITALS

Services provided by CHALMETTE MEDICAL CENTER:

Beds - Total (Total number of beds in a facility, including those in
non-Participating or non-licensed areas): 194
Beds - Total certified (Number of beds in Medicare and/or Medicaid certified
areas within a facility): 170
I'm not sure how the licensing groups determine # of beds needed for certain
population but remember this: There is no hospital in N.O. east nor the
upper or lower 9th wards. If those folks present to the hospital and are in
need of care, they *will* be admitted.

Hope there are enough rooms for all that need them.

Wow. Great.
40 beds sounds like a neat compromise between the proposed 20 or 60
bed
deals.
Looking forward to it.
