Search on for man accused of raping 14-year-old in St. Bernard

St. Bernard Parish sheriff's officials are asking for the public's help in
finding a 24-year-old man wanted on a charge of forcible rape of a
14-year-old girl, who also contracted venereal disease from the incident and
was hospitalized, Sheriff Jack Stephens said. 
Jonathan Hampton, 24, also known as "Gentilly,'' allegedly raped a girl 14
year old girl who lives in another state but was visiting relatives in
eastern St. Bernard Parish, Sheriff Jack Stephens said.  


Sheriff Stephens said the girl reported the incident, which allegedly
happened in Violet in early July at the home of a friend of a relative.  The
teen also told deputies she began having symptoms of venereal disease. The
14-year-old was hospitalized in Children's Hospital but has been released,
the sheriff said. 


A judge has issued an arrest warrant charging Hampton with forcible rape of
a minor.  Anyone with information on Hampton's whereabouts should call the
