[StBernard] Medical changes may be on way for Chalmette

The shame is all the political bullshit they have/are going through. The
lege gives them money to build a community hospital that way it is eligible
for more reimbursements. Had to be built on a higher portion of land. That
makes sense. They pick out land owned by Meraux Trust. Have to pay $1
million for land. *That's* the stupid part. Expropriate the land and be
done with if the "Trust" didn't want to donate it. If there was anything
that would be for the betterment of the parish (as the Trust was set up to
do) this would be it.

Then they have to decide: public or private, community-based or not, etc.,
etc., etc. All just foot-dragging.

-----------------------------------------------------
A hospital should have been the number on priority. Now they are
all proud
that they have a plan for one. A 40 bed hospital is nor more than a
fancy
clinic. Then they want to build it across from the government
complex,
close to the 9th ward. It should be built closer to the central part
of the
parish. Get rid of the mess save-a-center sears k-mart, etc. and
build it
there. But our officials should be ashamed instead of proud.
Taking this
long is a joke
