Catherine "Catsy" M. LaCerva Deubler, beloved wife for over fifty-four
years, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt to a host of nieces
and nephews peacefully passed away in her home on September 30, 2008 with
family members by her side. She was born in New Orleans on September 20,
1935 and moved to Chalmette LA and lived with her family for over fifty
years following her marriage. She moved to Tickfaw LA following Hurricane
Katrina. Catsy will be remembered for her kind acts and expressions of
charity to many members of her community and would always view others by
their positive characteristics. She was loved dearly by all who met her.
She was involved with the Knights of Columbus Rummel Council Ladies
Auxiliary and the St Bernard ARP, and was a parishioner of Prince of Peace
Catholic Church and had served on its Parish Council and was a Eucharistic
Minister.

Catsy was preceded in death by her parents Anthony and Zena La Cerva, her
Uncle Johnny who raised her, her daughter Phyllis D Zeringue, sisters Rose
and Jean, brothers Tony, Vincent and Jack, in-laws Joe Deubler Sr and Mae
Deubler and son-in-law David K Petersen. She is survived by her brother Joe
LaCerva and sister Mickie Gebbia, her loving husband I Charles Deubler Sr,
her children Peggy D Sullivan, Gwendolyn D Petersen, Charlie Deubler, Jr and
wife Tonya, Brian J Deubler, son-in-law Lloyd Zeringue, grandchildren Warren
J "Skip" LeCompte, III, Breann J Deubler, Brittany E Deubler, Michelle R
Deubler, Jamie Sullivan, great-grandchild Meghan A Lecompte, life-long
friend Joan A Fos, niece Cacky Faust and nephew Buddy Baham.

Relatives and friends of the family as well as the Rummel Council Ladies
Auxiliary and former Prince of Peace Parishioners are invited to attend a
memorial mass at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church at 2320 Paris Rd
in Chalmette, LA on Saturday, October 11 at 1 PM. Visitation will begin at
11 AM. The family wishes to thank the many family, relatives, and friends
as well as Community Care Hospice and Patricia Frazier for helping the
family through their most recent loss. In lieu of flowers, please make a
donation to the American Cancer Society in memory of Catherine Deubler.
