the biggest differences are the significant increase in large-truck traffic
and the existing restrictions that prohibit a waste station at that
particular proposed site selection.

its just not the right site selection in accordance with existing law.

I'm going to be accused of committing herraci but here goes:

Maybe I've missed something but it doesn't appear that there is a master
plan for Paris Road to change with all the existing business entities doing
business as usual and "would it be in the best interest of the parish?" ie.
the " marina hotel", truck stop, Willhoft's boat yard, Tim's marine boat
yard, Wahoo's what ever it is now with heavy equipment and suck trucks
taking up all of the parking lot, T& T marine's building and property,
another equipment parking lot, Theresa's fishing company directly in the
middle of Berthelot's property.

The area is what it is. A industrial area with water access. St. Bernard
regardless of what some want it to be, is known as a fishing village and
refinery town. Of course we need to continue to improve the environment and
assure that the industrial business entities obey whatever laws imply to
them.

How things change. Pre-Katrina Pescay rented areas along their property for
commercial fishermen to work on their boats. Pescay refurbished their own
boats there. A few environmental complaints were made, and immediately
corrected such as protecting overspray of the paint from getting into our
waterways, but the area continued to flourish for the local fishermen to
refurbish and maintain the boats needed to keep us in fresh seafood.

And now many times has the Tourish Director taken the politicians to the
boat docks in order to showcase St. Bernard? The majority of these boats
pre-katrina were refurbished at one of the yards along Paris Road.

I myself have used Willhofts yard to have our boat refurbished. The boat
yards on Paris Road were much closer than taking our boats to the industrial
canal and of course taking our business out of the parish.

If everyone is going to attack the transfer station then let's make a total
clean sweep of the entire area.

Would it be beneficial or practical ? I think not.
