Landrieu Rounds Out

Third Term Press Team

WASHINGTON - United States Senator Mary L. Landrieu, D-La., today announced
the appointment of key staff members to her press department as she begins
her third term in the U.S. Senate. The move follows the announcement last
week that Press Secretary Stephanie Allen had been promoted to
Communications Director. She succeeds Deputy Chief of Staff Adam Sharp, who
will join the public affairs network C-SPAN after having led the Landrieu
communications team for more than four years.

* Aaron Saunders, formerly Communications Director for U.S. Senator
Ted Stevens, R-Alaska, has been named Press Secretary.
* Deputy Press Secretary Marni Goldberg has been promoted to Deputy
Communications Director and will also serve as Press Secretary for the
Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee Disaster Recovery
Subcommittee, which Sen. Landrieu chairs.
* Scott Schneider has been named Communications Director for the
Senate Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee, which Sen. Landrieu
will chair. He previously served as Press Secretary for the senator's recent
reelection campaign.

"I am very proud of the reputation my communications department has earned
over the last several years. My staff has always strived to be thorough,
accurate, and timely, and with a team veteran at the helm, I expect that
dedication to continue now in the 111th Congress," said Sen. Landrieu.

"As newsrooms shrink and resources become more limited, we understand that
our role in providing information to local and regional media becomes even
more important, and we are committed to increasing our outreach efforts to
press outlets of all sizes. Scott Schneider brings a wealth of Louisiana
knowledge and experience, and Aaron Saunders' issue portfolio and bipartisan
resume is a strong addition to the team. Stephanie Allen and Marni
Goldberg's firsthand newspaper experience helps the team to better meet the
needs of those reporters who cover us."

Aaron Saunders, Senator Landrieu's new Press Secretary, worked for Senator
Ted Stevens, R-Alaska, for more than five years, serving as Communications
Director in his Washington office and for the Senate Commerce Committee
during Stevens' tenure as Chairman. In 2008, he served as Communications
Director for Stevens' re-election campaign. Prior to coming to Capitol Hill,
Saunders was the Public Relations Manager for the Alaska SeaLife Center in
Seward, Alaska. He earned his undergraduate degree from Miami University of
Ohio and his Master's in Political Communications from Georgetown
University.

Marni Goldberg has been named to the dual role of Deputy Communications
Director for Senator Landrieu and Press Secretary for the Disaster Recovery
Subcommittee after having first joined the team as Deputy Press Secretary in
March 2008. She previously served as a spokesperson for the Democratic
Leadership Council and as Editor in Chief for the Miami Student, the campus
newspaper of Miami University of Ohio, where Goldberg graduated with degrees
in journalism and political science. She has also written for the Chicago
Tribune and CongressDaily.

Scott Schneider, Communications Director for the Senate Small Business
Committee, served as Press Secretary and official spokesman for Sen.
Landrieu's 2008 re-election campaign. He joined Sen. Landrieu's Senate staff
in June 2006 as Deputy Communications Director before moving to the campaign
in February 2008. A New Orleans native, Scott was the Louisiana state debate
champion. He earned a degree in Government, Phi Beta Kappa, from the
University of Redlands.
