Dear Westley,
Earlier this week, I stood on the U.S. Senate floor and opposed the Senate version of the "Stimulus" bill.
As I prepare to vote on the final Trillion dollar proposal, my concerns that this legislation is little more than a laundry list of big government spending projects has only increased with the insertion of a $30 Million provision to protect field mice in San Francisco! As if the $300 million for hybrid and electric cars, including golf carts for federal workers, wasn't nauseating enough.
Field mice and golf carts aren't going to create jobs in Louisiana, and they sure aren't going to make our schools safer, repair our levees or put more cops on the street.
If you find this ridiculous pork barrel spending as ridiculous as I do, join Team Vitter by following this link <http://www.kintera.org/TR.asp?a=grKMI0OHLiIWKdJ&s=gkJRL6MQLgLUIbOVLvH&m=puJ0L8NLLjLaE> . During these tough economic times, I'm committed to fight the Obama Administration and big spenders in Washington to make sure we spend taxpayer dollars wisely.
Thanks,
David Vitter
