"JER, Why do you always see the glass half empty? --Jill Dolese"
Jer Responds:
Yes, my glass is half full. Is everyone fortunate to declare this? Is a home
with $50,000 in it - Half-repaired? Partly repaired? Or is it not repaired?
God knows people would want to see me (or anyone for that matter) lose their
last true effort at recovery go down the tube because of incidence.
OH, and using the Times-Picayune is a brief and non-controversial motion?
How dare???
That's almost the equivalent to drawing a line in the sand.
Joke? Who's joking? People who are writing in (as are yourself, in a serious
frame of mind. Especially those I've seen base their struggles on the
ability to force oneself to do what's beyond their capability?
I'm not using an out of state instance, nor out of parish, not even out of
mind here. The issue centers around comments which tend to inflame the least
capable who are losing their homes to demolition. Publically? Why, we and
you are doing this as we speak, so how can I be alone at it?
Discussions on demolition has been a thorn for those who seek what we all
aspire to - complete recovery without government telling us "Sorry" but what
you've worked and slaved during your lifetime isn't worth having in our
community. There is little value and conscious efforts to bring a
downtrodden homeowner out of the darkness and into a comparable "light of
recovery".
Some people are well off (that's not a fault but a fact). I was once there
because being well off is not only measured in terms of the monetary sense,
but an emotional, spiritual, healthful and even satisfactory sense. It does
not mean rich in the sense of gold or power. It means rich in the sense of
fulfillment and joy.
Who has fulfillment and job when the last board is carted off to the Paris
Rd. junk heap at the homeowners ill-fortune?
