I'm going to be very brief here:

This is NOT a perfect example of "the cycle of poverty".

It is a Hyper-Perfected excuse for stupidity - (coupled with Super-racism).
The slaves, however are others who were paying taxes and allowing what I
call "A cycle of pacifism" - rooted in the liberal attempt to keep
NON-Afrikans from opening their mouth about what is right or wrong or kept
in a "circle of feeling guilt" for putting this poor woman in slavery
<SNEER>

You want to know poverty. I'll give but a small sampling:

I had 10 brothers and sisters, my father was disabled at 40, my mom of
course couldn't work, we lived in a run-down neighborhood and much of what
we ate came from a garbage barrel in the French Market.

When my hand-me-down shoes flapped or bore large holes, I put cardboard in
them until the next rain. I spent 4 a.m. before Christmas walking a mile to
the Municipal Auditorium to get a football (by myself at age 10 so that I
would have a toy). We never had a Christmas <commercially, not religiously -
even though my Dad and Mom had us in the Catholic Faith).

Oh, it went on, but I won't bore everyone with the grisly details. It's my
problematic past, I suppose and I survived thanking God.

I still was highly-educated because I fought to make it so.
