"St. Bernard Parish President Craig Taffaro was able to discuss St. Bernard
issues with Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano and
Housing and Urban Development Secretary Shaun Donovan during their visit
Thursday as well as with FEMA Acting Administrator Nancy Ward during a
Wednesday reception held in St. Bernard to thank the federal and state
agencies for their assistance with the recovery.

President Taffaro also honored Larry Ingargiola, who was the Homeland
Security Director for the parish at the time Katrina hit, for starting the
recovery effort."

Jer Responds:

Isn't this the correct protocol? You honor a person's achievement AFTER you
fire him for allegedly doing an inept, lousy job? It was like this after the
storm. Heads rolled because they happened to be part of the "recovery plan"
by the administration/council? Allegedly place your own people in office and
claim you're on the recovery with those who have less experience?

It's not a joking matter. It shows incompetence and it caused more disorder
and longer time for recovery. Thousands heard or saw this, read this or
experienced this happening.

Now, there's honor ceremonies, rah-rah's and exploiting before a cabinet
member of O-B-1.

Now "don't dat take all".
