St. Bernard Parish pair arrested in burglary of acquaintance's home

Two St. Bernard Parish residents have been arrested in connection with a
home burglary in which five rifles - including an AK-47 and M-14 - were
stolen, authorities said.

One of the arrested men had earlier helped the homeowner move into the home
in Meraux, authorities said.

Bobby Walters, 17, of Arabi and Michael Brodmyer, 22, of Chalmette, were
booked Monday night with burglary, the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff's Office
said. The burglary occured on Saturday.

Walters, who had helped the homowner move into the residence, and Brodmyer
were trying to sell the weapons when they were arrested, authorities said.

The weapons, along with a television, were recovered.

Walters was being held in lieu of $25,000 bond; Brodmyer was being help in
lieu of $27,500 bond.
